Culture: la Saga des Géants en visite à Genève

Le défilé des marionnettes géantes commence vendredi dans les rues de Genève avec la Grand-Mère de 8 mètres de hauteur et la Petite-Fille de 5,5 mètres. C'est la première fois que ce spectacle de la Compagnie française Royal de Luxe fait escale en Suisse. Il se déroulera jusqu'à dimanche.

Genève s'apprête à vivre trois jours d'exception sous le signe de la Saga des géants, un défilé de deux marionnettes XXL qui n'ira pas sans perturber la circulation. Vendredi, la Grand-Mère et la Petite-Fille vont sortir de leur sommeil avant de visiter la ville .

Les deux géantes évolueront avec un cortège de fidèles Lilliputiens. L'aïeule déploiera ses 8 mètres de hauteur entre Plainpalais et Carouge. Sa descendance de 5,5 mètres seulement se réveillera à Carouge et rejoindra à Plainpalais en passant par le parc des Acacias. Une déambulation qui sera interrompue par une sieste bien méritée pour les deux visiteuses.

 

 

Après une nuit à Plainpalais, le parcours de la Grand-Mère lui permettra samedi de rejoindre les Eaux-Vives, tandis que sa Petite-Fille trottinera jusqu'aux Pâquis. Dimanche, qui est aussi à Genève une journée sans voiture, les deux marionnettes et leur cortège se rendront ensemble à Genève-Plage, puis aux Pâquis, le long de la rade.

Privilégier les transports publics

Le défilé des deux marionnettes représente un défi considérable pour la police et les transports publics genevois (TPG). Les entraves à la circulation au centre-ville seront innombrables.

Il est vivement recommandé d'utiliser les transports publics et de planifier ses déplacements. Des lignes spéciales et des renforts sont mis en place pour faire face à l'affluence et aux perturbations attendues. Une ligne verte a été ouverte au 0800 909 400.

Une première en Suisse

Ce spectacle de la Compagnie française Royal de Luxe fait escale pour la première fois en Suisse et devrait attirer un million de personnes. La manifestation est entièrement gratuite.

 

 

Le budget de toute l'opération s'élève à 2,2 millions de francs, dont 1,8 million de contributions privées. L'Association des communes genevoises a mis 200'000 francs, la commune d'Anières et la Ville de Genève 100'000 chacune.
