Der Student Giovanni Broggini testet in der Abteilung Phytopathologie im Institut fuer Pflanzenwissenschaften der ETH Zuerich Aepfel, die aus einer Kreuzung zweier Apfelbaumsorten entstanden sind, auf Aussehen, Haltbarkeit und Geschmack, aufgenommen am 28. Que ferons-nous au terme du moratoire sur la culture d’OGM en 2021? Le Conseil fédéral a imaginé la suite: un régime de coexistence entre les cultures classiques et celles génétiquement modifiées – «dans l’hypothèse d’une meilleure acceptation par les consommateurs et d’un intérêt réel pour l’agriculture». Il a présenté, cet été, un projet de loi pour autoriser des «zones OGM», enclavées et supervisées, avec des filières de production isolées du reste de l’agriculture.

Le Conseil national a sèchement rejeté cette idée, hier, par 142 voix contre 47. «Cela ne correspond à aucun besoin, ni à aucune demande», a asséné le socialiste valaisan Mathias Reynard. «La tendance actuelle est inverse: un grand nombre de nos voisins ont décidé d’interdire la culture d’OGM.
